Research Department

This department is primarily responsible to guide the conduct of research within the medical services of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces. It ensures that all research conducted and involving human subjects meet the highest ethical and legal standards locally and compares favorably with international best practice. The hospital’s research policy guides the Research Unit, its collaborators, and all involved in research. Investigators, data collectors and research entities refer to the policy before the start of any research. A commitment, in writing, shall be obtained from the Principal Investigator (PI) and individuals delegated by the PI to perform research related tasks, that they will comply with the requirements and directives outlined in the policy.
